Adrian Johnson, MSc., is a writer, researcher, poet and storyteller that lives in Smethwick in the West Midlands of England. His work has been published in the Guardian, Poetry Society News, radiowildfire.com and assorted poetry magazines and web sites. He is a former city of Birmingham Poet Laureate who has appeared at Ledbury Poetry festival and assorted public library events. His first novel, Love and Taxes, toured as a live literature show across the UK exploring the people's fiery response to the Poll Tax. He produced the country's first Storytelling Laureate with Taffy Thomas, MBE and was research writer in residence at Soho House Museum in Handsworth. His chapter and review of Spoken Word from Birmingham was published by Routledge Books (edited by Dr Lucy English) in 2021. Most recently Adrian completed nine years of full time teaching English and Drama with Birmingham pupils aged 11 to 18 and now teaches p/t in Netherton. He is always open to a conversation to get your community of interest fired up and active with great ideas and creative activities.
